Making Nick Jr Cupcakes

Kayla was watching a show on Friday and saw a things on how to make Ming-Ming Cupcakes. She asked me if we could make some, I had to go to the store anyways so I told her we would pick up a few extra things so we could make them. (If you or your kids want to make nick jr. character cupcakes Click Here.) First I went to the website and printed off a template. I let Kayla frost the cupcakes yellow and then I smoothed them all out. I cut all the templates parts out and Kayla added all the decorations-the eyes and goggles. It was pretty easy but cutting out the aviator hat was a little hard just because the candy would start to harden which made it a little more difficult to cut. Kayla and I had a lot of fun making them but I think she had more fun eating them.I told Kayla to put the M&M's down so you wouldn't see the M's but I guess she didn't listen. The finished cupcakes. I was going a make 12 of them but realized they were a lot of work so I only make 6. Kayla and Grandma Robinson (talk about Kayla having a fat face, oh while we all have a few pictures of them.)

More Fun at the Lake

My parents came to see us and of course we went to the lake, ya! It was a beautiful day, the water was perfect and every now and than we would get a nice breeze. I can't believe how much my kids really love the water and how well they tan. This is my favorite picture, we were on our way to the Narrows and I couldn't resist in taking this picture. Isn't it so funny!

In the Narrows we found this little cove and Craig, my dad and Austin - oh ya! thought it would be fun to cliff jump.
This is Craig
Dad ( Thinks he's 20 again!)

Austin (Trying to be like the big boys!)
That was fun! After spending a while here we try to find a beach so Kayla could play (she's a little scared and doesn't really trust the life jacket, that and she likes to be able to touch the ground.) This is the beach we stayed most of the day at.

Craig wake-boarded and my dad knee-boarded and I was the flag girl. That's alright, I just wanted to soak in those rays. After a few hours enjoying the beach and the water we decided to explore the new and different Lake Mead. On our exploration we discovered this little hidden, tucked away cove and found some big-horned sheep. The kids were amazed at seeing an animal they had never seen before. It was pretty cool!

It was a nice day at the lake and we all had a blast and we all got burnt. I'm still recovering from it. But seriously it was a lot of fun and I can't wait to go again-hopefully Heather and some of her friends will come up so we can go. But until next time!

FUN AT THE LAKE

About 2 weeks ago my dad called Craig and asked him if he would take the boat to the shop in Las Vegas and try to get it fixed, he was coming out in a couple of weeks and wanted to go to the lake, besides that the boat had been just sitting for the last 2 years and it was time to finally get it fixed. In the meantime Stephanie and her boyfriend Juan came to spend a couple of days with us (Monday July 27) and while they were here we got the phone call (Tuesday July 28) that the boat was fixed. Well, so we thought. We spent a few hours Wednesday morning cleaning and making sure the boat ran before taking it out to the lake. When we got to the lake later that day, to our disappointment the boat wouldn't start. What a waste of a day! We got home and Craig started tinkering with it, to find out the gas in the boat was so old that it clogged the pipes. So we spent the next 6 hours draining the fuel out and cleaning the fuel tank, cleaning the pipes, changing the fuel filter, and cleaning everything and anything else that was some how touched be fuel. It was a hot and miserable evening but by morning we had the boat running again. Thursday we tried it again and with high hopes we headed to the lake. To our excitement the boat started and we knew the rest of the day was all about relaxing and enjoying the lake. Here are some pictures we took before the camera battery died, Some luck!
Ashley on the beach. This is actually an island that we had all to ourselves.

Before leaving the lake we all got the knee board but something was still wrong with the boat. Craig wanted to ski but the boat would stall out every time. It's like the boat wasn't strong enough. It was a few days later, when Craig was looking at the boat engine again and discovered that a small part was put on backwards (probably by the last people that were working on it 2 years ago), he fixed that and says the boat should be at 100%. I guess we'll find out this weekend when my parents come.
